We found four special trilobite fossils in some crazy rock shop in middle-of-nowhere Utah. This was some time ago, but I always had grand plans for them. We designed the pendants in wax to be cast in 14k gold. Much to our dismay, the first one set began to crumble just as we were securing the final prong. Frustrated, we rethought the project and decided to make a mold of the existing fossils and then cast them in silver.
Voila, problem solved! They still retain the look and feel of an actual trilobite, but are now super durable.
Each one is special and unique. We were aiming to create pieces that felt like unearthed treasures and think we succeeded. Which is your favorite?
